Delta’s Green Thumb is an 800 square foot greenhouse located at 16th and Commercial in Cairo, IL.
Delta’s Green Thumb will grow and produce plants, flowers, herbs, and related products with a goal of bringing Delta Center’s mental health consumers financial independence by providing them with meaningful employment opportunities. Consumers of Delta Center who attend PSR Programming, and are involved in the Supported Housing, ACT, and Outpatient Programs are eligible to work in Delta Center’s Green Thumb.
We grow bedding flowers, garden flowers, house plants, vegetables, and herbs.
Consumers are trained to grow and care for plants by the Horticulture Specialist who provides each consumer with a complete orientation to the greenhouse.
Consumers who are interested in working will be given the opportunity to be paid for any work completed; consumers will be sponsored by the Office of Rehabilitation Services.

Whats available at the Green Thumb Greenhouse - House plants are available year 'round, especially aloe vera, philodendron, schefflera and ficus.
- Gift plants can be wrapped with limited local delivery.
Holiday Plant Sale Dates - Christmas sales begin November 23rd this year with Poinsettia orders for churches due by December 15th.
- Valentine's Day sales will begin Monday, February 8th.
- Easter Lily orders will be due by Tuesday, March 30th, bedding plant sales begin the week after.
- Mother's Day plants such as hanging baskets and custom planters will be available May 3rd.
- Other plant sales dates are Boss's Day on Friday, October 16th and Administrative Professional's Day on Wednesday, April 21st.
